ESPN Rankings of Top BB Programs

Postby SoCal_Pony » Mon Jul 21, 2008 9:24 pm

ESPN has ranked the best programs in the modern era (since 1984-85) when the NCAA tourney expanded to 64 teams.

Of the 300 teams that were ranked, SMU was one of 140 teams that scored 0 points or less.

Our ranking is #165, tied with Detroit of the Horizon Conference.

Somehow I think this is about to change...

You know PK, I feel better about SMU athletics today than at any point in the past 20 years.

There is no reason SMU BB can't be a Top 25 program.

To my understanding McCoy and Otis are on campus for summer school. I think those two guys might make an immediate impact on the team.

What I like is that you have the incoming freshman players coming to school early to get a class out of the way. Good thinking.

Plus they all received academic credit for the Africa tour, so they are getting at least two classes out of the way.

The incoming freshmen didn't get that credit, but you are correct about the returning players getting credit for the Africa tour as well.
