I thought there were a lot of tall kids walking around in Vegas while I was there.

PonyDoh, aren't you a big-shot AAU guy? Shouldn't you have a general idea of what Doh/the staff are doing?

there's an article on Rivals today about a Top National Guard (5 Star) from out west Daniel Bejarno who lists an SMU offer along with other offers from Indiana. Arizona St., Marquette. Not sure how much a player we are for him though. No. 4 Shooting Guard in the country.

Finally found him. He is number 4 in the 2010 class. Daniel Bejarano.

Well, I was at one point, but I can't say I'm that close w/what's happening w/SMU on the trail, outside of the Anthony Marshall, but here's a nugget. i know we're on this guy;

Bawa Manuri, C, Nashville Celtics Green – At 6-11, all the high-majors have been dropping by to see him. What they wind up finding out his that he’s got a chiseled frame and legit size. He’s going to be lacing them up for a big school. What he really needs is more reps so finding a fit where he can get a lot of minutes would be best. If that means C-USA instead of a bigger league, that might be the best option for playing time and personal development.

He was 08, but I'm assuming if he is playing summer ball, he's been reclassified. Another African big, seems like we may have an 'in'

Sounds like an appealing guy. Go get him, Coach D!

This might have already been addressed, but I was checking out the Top 150 for the 2009 class and the number six overall player, DeMarcus Cousins, committed to UAB. I can't believe that

Rumor is he might be on the verge of decommiting, especially after their other big signing, Tamir Jackson, reneged yesterday

I'd be glad to welcome them both to SMU.

I know we only have 1 or 2 rides available next year but I would like to think that there are more kids interested in our program than the 7 or 8 listed on ponystampede.com. A few more listed on mustangmaniacs.com
It still appears things haven't picked up any for Robo Doh in the state.
Locally, not to many kids showing up on the radar except Javier Carter, a 6'8 kid here in Dallas. The only other local kid I have seen play with interest in us in Vetrial Voughn, the pg from Mesquite. He is very good.
I've seen where Roger Franklin, the highly rated forward from Duncanville has shown slight interest but I wouldn't be surprised to see him in Austin with teammate Williams who committed to UT last week.
Keeping my eye on the Cherry kid in Oakland although I would prefer to see some size with these 2 rides. The kid mentioned in an earlier post on this subject sounds good too.

update from the previous post.
Vaughns not Voughns from Mesquite has been upgraded from no stars to 3 stars after a great AAU summer.
No longer lists us his favorites list.
