Women's BB November tournament is set

Postby George S. Patton » Thu Aug 21, 2008 10:34 am

It will be on Nov. 28-29 -- the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. I don't have times. I'm sure the Saturday games will be at night since football will be basically going through its walk through for its bowl game/CUSA Championship game as it tunes up on Southern Miss that afternoon.

Games on Nov. 28
SMU vs. Sam Houston
Fresno St. vs. Charlotte

Games on Nov. 29
Losers meet in the consolation
Winners meet for the title

Pretty decent field. Fresno shared the WAC title, won the postseason tournament before losing to Baylor in the first round of the NCAA. 22-11

Charlotte went 18-14 out of the Atlantic 10 and went to the WNIT

Sam Houston State -- Well, not so good. 1-28 in 2007-08. Think you can pencil us into the finals.

Not on the school website - what makes you think the field is set?

Found it on the Fresno State web site. I wanted to see if I could find who else the men were playing in the non-conference schedule from other schools. I googled, and this came off the Fresno State web site.

Talked about everything. It wouldn't be on our web site because we haven't released our schedules for either the men or the women.

The womens team has had their non-conference schedule set for some time now, they are waiting for C-USA to finish the conference schedule, before announcing the full schedule.

I was told the schedule would not be released until September 25. Trying to decide on season tickets.

You know when you google and you have those words in the window. The first list appeared produced a link to the release from Fresno State. So I didn't get on Fresno St's web site per se.

I just on the link to the story. But this is good information. This team has the ingredients to be really good this year. That incoming class and our returners are going to be year older and stronger.

XTC is right. Non-conference schedule has been set for a couple of months with only a few game times TBD.
