Posted: Mon Aug 25, 2008 11:31 amSMU opens against Jacksonville which is out of the Atlantic Sun and went 23-9. They lost the tournament championship game and did not go to the postseason.
Virginia Tech went 15-15 but had an awful 2-12 season. I think they were pretty good for awhile. I remember them being in the NCAA women's tournament earlier this decade.
IUPUI is out of the Summit league and went 17-16. They lost the Summit tournament title game to Oral Roberts and did not go to the postseason.
In other words, this is a tournament we should be favored to win.

Posted: Mon Aug 25, 2008 1:38 pmVirginia Tech is pretty good, they just aren't up to the level of the rest of the ACC so they get pounded in conference play. This will be a pretty competitive lineup.
