he's been recruiting Dallas area kids all along-just hasn't gotten many.

Baylor has the attraction of playing in a big time conference, I think that has the most to do with it and unfortunately is the one thing we cannot offer recruits.

Drew has done a fantastic job down there, I remember going down to Waco for the SMU Baylor game during his first year when he had six players, was an ugly game that SMU won. Now they have made it all the way back to the tourney and are making noise in the Big 12.

I have seen Robo @ games in the metroplex several times so I know he's taking his cuts. Just hasn't connected yet. The great thing about BB recruiting is it only takes 1 bigtimer to get on board & others will follow. Robo will keep swinging & eventually he will hit a "homerun".
Its just unfortunate that he hasn't been successful @ Duncanville yet.
To me, that's were it all starts in the DFW area.

He needs to start making some noise with W/L's. The upgrade in athleticism on this upcoming team is profound, as compared to what Doh inherited. That said, he has to take out the cupcakes and scare some big boys. Only way he can sell the 'you're the missing piece' schtick, is if they are knocking on the door of success. Right now, it's straight sales w/o a quality product to point to.

I agree with PonyDoh that the recruiting is really tough when you have little to sell but the pitch. Everything takes time; however, I believe that things like the abysmal pre-conference schedule also contributes to the recruiting problems. Second/third tier teams, no interesting travel ( tournaments in Hawaii or Alaska).....etc. I think any big time prospect would look at our pre-season schedule and laugh. In fact, it might be a major factor in causing kids to run the other way believing the program is a joke. I also do not see kids improving their game playing third tier teams and thereby learning how to compete. You can make the argument that the team needs to gradually be brought along for many skill and psychological reasons; however, my experience in sports is that the most valuable learning ocurrs when you play the best and learn what sacrifice and work it takes to really start competing at that level.
