Q Ross, OJ Mayo and the mighty Grizzlies also in town that night...they sound more entertaining than Houston Baptist. But hopefully SMU will actually handle up on these inferior teams, unlike last season...

I am excited to watch us against Illinois State, who should have made it to the Big Dance last year. I think if we can hold our own against them, I have faith in the future of our program.

"The MVC "bubble team" this season was the Illinois State Redbirds, who finished the season 23-9 and as the runner-up in the MVC Tournament. Along with a solid record and tournament run, the Redbirds ranked 33 in the Ratings Percentage Index - higher than such tournament teams as Arizona, Oregon and Villanova."

Who is the toughest opponent on our schedule this year? Memphis?

Memphis is by far our toughest opponent. I might even go so far as to say UAB will be our second most difficult, ahead of Texas A&M. Will have to see both teams play before I can make that judgement but I think its safe to say that those will be our 3 toughest. Houston, Tulsa, and Illinois St. were also all post-season teams last year.

My son said that Illinois tonight is a good team also. Good defense.
