my first look at the new guys tonight. I like Williams and really like McCoy. basically i like every part of McCoys game. Liked the way he could easily break pressure, drive, dish, shoot, good quickness and feet on defense, hustles, smart, the whole package. really looking forward to 4 years of this guy. Haynes was quiet but still impressive and had alot of presence on the floor. There is a place for Otis on a good team anyday too.

Dia was good tonight on offense, needs to pick it up on D. Besides Dia, the sophomore class was very passive. HBU is nothing to judge from as far as competition, but you could see something to build on tonight especially with the freshmen. If Faye can play, and Doherty can guide the ship, could be an interesting season.

Those were two great signings and I like Doherty's move to have them both on the floor at the same time.

I thought Walker played well too, best game I have seen him play. Harp, on the other hand, reverted back to being an offensive liability, he has nice size, but is not a great ball handler or passer, he had several turnovers and near turnovers.

Will be nice to see what Faye will add, looking forward to it.

I thought Harp played well and that your criticism is off base. (With the exception of the two missed FTs.)

He was 2/3 from the field with 3 assists and 2 steals vs. 1 TO.

I liked his husstle.

Harp seemed to contribute some, but what I found especially telling was his lack of minutes. Williams/McCoy are eating them all up. Frankly, I'm surprised that Walker/Harps minutes were below 15. Good to see Haynes get serious production in 7 minutes. That'll help his confidence

I didn't get to go to the game and after reading bagice's comments about Harp, I figured he must have really screwed up. Then I looked at the stats and figured they must be wrong. 3 assists and only 1 turnover is not what I call an offensive liability. No question he needs to score more and hopefully that will come along too. Like PonyDoh said, the minutes were reduced for some of last years freshmen and quite frankly I can't help but think that will help.

Doh needs to put the best players on the floor..........and unfortunately Harp is not one of them but he will be in the rotation to give the starters some rest.

The guy was all over the place and his offense looked decent last night. In the radio post game Doherty said he would have played a lot more but had two early fouls. All good teams need an intangibles guy like him. McCoy also is a good.

Maybe I was a bit critical of Harp, he does hussle, but his ball handling was suspect, I know he had two turnovers, I guess he didn't get credit for one, but he made several sloppy passes and was always in danger of turning it over when it was in his hand.

He does play good Defense, but with Walker, McCoy and Williams looking so good, his minutes will probably be cut.

I feel bad saying this, but I really feel like Harp does not really offer anything to the team. Yes, he does hustle, but I saw him get beat numerous times last night. He was supposedly a three point threat, but I have yet to see him drain a three. I do not see really any minutes for him among Williams, McCoy and Mike Walker(who played excellent last night)

walker did do well last night but his opportunities were really created by mccoy and williams drawing the defense and kicking to walker for open shots from the wing. against better teams, not sure that is there and not sure walker can get his shot off against bigger defenders. one thing is for sure, just like many of us observed last year, walker is a shooting guard not a point guard. on harp, i just dont see how he is our hustle guy now...Otis is that guy i think.

What about Nyakundi? His stats didn't show much.

He clearly came to play last night! It should be fun watching him develop into a menacing force on the inside and he definately seems like the type who isn't going to backdown from anybody.

Agreed that this team has some promise and stands a good chance to be competitive in CUSA and win 15+ games. And remember that after this season we will only lose 1 player- Bamba. Having almost every player back next year could make this post-season tourney team (NIT or CBI) in Doherty's 4th year.
