If you missed the basketball game tonight...You missed the promise of a better tomorrow. We saw two guards that brought the ball up without danger of losing it with either one having the talent to drive to the basket and shoot or pass off and or shooting a 3 and really making it. You missed seeing some freshmen that are growing up. You missed seeing the coach not have to scream his head off all the time to get things going right. You missed seeing his playing all players including walkons. You could tell that he would work on getting the ball into the bigger men for a while then working on getting men open for threes and other offensive schemes. All three freshmen looked very good. Otis will be a crowd favorite for he dives for balls, blocks out so well, and is a real horse around the basket...Haynes hit a three or two and is a nice sight to see...But McCoy is such a find for us and a thrill to see play...he is a very poised point guard, along with Williams. These two make the whole team look better and inspires Walker to play to t he top of his game. We missed some layups which I think will be worked on. Papa Dia and the rest played well. At one time coach put his starters back on t he court and turned them loose to just play their game and that is when we pulled away.
A bonus for me was winning in a drawing, a t-shirt with all the players autographs and putting their numbers beside their names.
You missed lots of fun if you missed this one.
Go Mustangs!!!

Exactly, for all the duffases (sp?) that complained about the competition, see our team play is the real draw and it was great to see the new players and the teams progress. Dia was great and excited.

Dia finished with 17 points and nine rebounds.
"That's my challenge to him," Doherty said. "He should be a double-double guy every night."
It will be interesting to see how he does this year. With his size and strength, no reason why he shouldnt be in at least 10 points OR 10 rbs a game. Double doubles every now and again would be awesome.

Nice to go to an SMU event and walk away with a win, no matter whom the opponent.
Checked out my new seats they are the best cheap seats in the house, great view of the game. First half looked like we could not get a rebound, and we missed 23 three point attempts.
Second half you could tell they were fighting for it, perhaps only 3 or 4 missed 3 points shots, and much better on the boards. With the second half intensity played the entire game this could be a good team down the road..
