The South Florida game, away, first game of the year, was bound to be a toss-up. Integrating two new guards and an Otis, whatver that is, takes a minute. Simply, we dropped that game, didn't even cover against a big Vegas line.
3 game homestand w/formidable Illinois St looming. Have to win 2 of 3, no questions asked. Like South Florida, Illinois St is a winnable game, but slips away.
Now, we're up on the first big hoops holiday, Thanksgiving, and its SMU/TCU. It's today's must win. Its close on paper, and like South Florida/Illinois St is win we need for the teams confidence.
So far, we have a the the real deal in McCoy, but he's getting run into the ground. Tons of minutes already. We need so much more from Dia it's scary. Bamba is Bamba, roughly a 9 and 9 guy, that'll change a few shots. Malone can score, so he needs to lighten McCoys load. Set looks for Nyakundi, and keep getting Haynes some burn. He rebounds well per minute, and represents some athleticism and length on the perimeter.
Otis & Williams are very good additions. They'll make us a much more competitive team this year, but we need more from Harp/Haynes. Dia & Malone need to be offensive threats, and that's that.
Beat a Hornfrog!
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

I live on an island off South Carolina, so no, I will not be able to attend.

Yes, that would be difficult. Wasn't sure if you lived in or out of town.
