Any update on Faye?

Postby George S. Patton » Mon Dec 08, 2008 11:24 am

We're in finals week, I believe. Because of his academic question marks -- or at least that's what we're told -- does anyone know if he was on line to make grades and be eligible for the second semester?

Also, do we know if any of the current guys on the roster were in trouble or were they OK?

Thanks in advance.

I really hope that Doh has instilled in these kids the need for them to take care of their work in the classroom.

Do they still put the really stupid athletes in the dance department?

No, and most coaches wouldn't let their student-athletes take dance classes, anyway - dance appreciation classes, maybe, but actual dance classes can be extraordinarily strenuous, and injuries aren't rare, either.

SMU has one of the best dance programs in the country, FYI. If ever you get a chance to go to one of their shows, I suggest you do.

I find it odd that nothing has made the rounds about this.

When I was at SMU, several of the academicly challenged athletes were sent to the dance department because the grading is well in the eye of the beholder. That may have been abandoned awhile back. There was one small incident when a heavily recruited swimmer came to SMU and was sent to the dance department and found he liked it so much that he devoted himself to dance and the alternative lifestyle prevalent in the dance department.

As opposed to that prevalent in the swimming/diving department?
