What about James Dickey as the new men's BB head coach?

Would he take it? Would we want him? When he was at Texas Tech, he did a great job of getting DISD players in Jason Sasser and Tony Battie. Since local recruiting and restoring some semblance of a relationship with the DISD is among the concerns, this could go a long way.
My understanding is that he's pretty good with high roller alums. He did a solid job at Tech until he ran his course and was fired and replaced by Knight.
Just a thought.

Would be an excellent choice as a number 2 guy for Doherty. Let Doherty set the overall tone, yell at the refs, and have Dickey quietly run the sets. Doh can press the flesh and recruit. Get the Circle of Champions to come up with the 450K to entice him to come here to assist Doh..............

Something tells me Doh's ego wouldn't stand for that.

The Circle of Champions' bank books are a little low after the June hiring and the Madoff scheme. Let's leave them fellers alone.

Probably right, but he getter start getting that ego in check and start worrying about how he is going to keep his job or worse, his career...............

Texas Tech basketball did get on probation under Dickey. However, it was mainly over academic stuff if I recall correctly(using ineligible players, etc.). At the time there were widespread problems throughout the entire Tech athletic department for not monitoring grades and that sort of thing. Dickey did not even get fired over the matter.

Rob Evans will be your next coach.
I'm not making any predictions on when it will happen, but that's who is waiting in the wings.

"low" is a relative term - depends on the circles in which one runs - The Circle of Champions isn't (and won't be) hurtin'.
