Congrats! Here's the news note from smumustangs.com:

SMU's Brittany Gilliam Named C-USA Player Of The Week
Junior leads Mustangs to four-game winning streak

Brittany Gilliam led the Mustangs to three wins, including a victory at then-No. 26 TCU.

Jan. 5, 2009

DALLAS (SMU) - Junior forward Brittany Gilliam averaged 16.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in SMU's three wins between Dec. 22 and Jan. 4 to lead the Mustangs to a trio of victories - including one at No. 26 TCU and another over Tulsa in their conference opener. For her efforts, Gilliam was named Conference USA's Player of the Week.

Gilliam scored 20 points Dec. 28, on .467 (7-of-15) shooting from the floor, to help lead the Mustangs to a 92-75 win at home over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Two days later, she flirted with a triple-double, scoring 18 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and dishing out eight assists in the Mustangs' 79-75 upset victory over their metroplex rival. The double-double was Gilliam's third of the season.

Gilliam and the Mustangs opened C-USA action Saturday with a 67-56 win over Conference USA rival Tulsa, a game in which Gilliam drilled three three-pointers en route to 11 points, making her one of four Mustangs to reach double figures in scoring against the Golden Hurricane. She also grabbed nine rebounds and handed out six assists in the SMU victory.

This is Gilliam's first career Player of the Week honor.

The Mustangs (8-6), who have won four straight, and six of the last seven, return to action at 7 p.m. Thursday when they host the Marshall Thundering Herd in a game that can be heard live on KAAM (770 AM) and seen in Dallas on Time-Warner Cable's Metro Sports (channel 185).

Very well-deserved — she carried us in the second half against TCU.
Keep up the great work, BG

Probably should have won it once before. She's been the most consistent scorer for us as we've started out much better than I (and a lot of others) thought we would.
