I am I super biased, or were the ref super horrible? Were they CUSA?
Glad we survived the bad calls and our own mistakes.

I thought they were atrocious. Granted, CU had more fouls (at least in the 2nd half) and we shot more free throws, but i still thought they sucked. the carrying call on Mccoy with a minute or so left was just crazy. Nobody makes that kind of call at that juncture, and if they do, it doesnt go against any home team in America. The younger ref was decent but the other two i thought were comically bad at times.

Do you know what conference they came from? I assume CUSA. Glad to know it wasn't just me.

SMU had five fouls in the 2nd half including the intentional foul in the last 5 seconds and ended with 13 fouls. Colorado was over 10 fouls for quite awhile in the 2nd half, had 3 guys foul out and ended with 23 fouls.
Not saying the refs were not bad, just saying you might be biased if you think they were biased against SMU.
Now, if someone can explain why the ref 40 feet away called the T on Dia when the ref standing right in front of him getting the brunt of his anger did not do anything, I would like to understand that. I thought he deserved the T, but I was surprised about which ref called it. I was also not impressed when the ref basically blew Dia off when he came out to apologize and to try to shake his hand.

I was not necessarily talking about the fouls.

that ref probably knew the foul call on papa was bogus so he was letting him vent. papa goes up and makes sure not to make contact, snags the offensive board cleanly, and the little dude on CU basically undercuts him at the last possible second to make it look like a box out, but it was an undercut after the kid failed to box papa properly/in time.
sure wish Doh would stand up for his players more, especially at home. papa has an immaturity and temper problem, but doh could make a point to him if he would stand up for him on a bad call and show papa that somebody has his back so maybe next time he wont get so frustrated.

SMU won the game, so I'm not whining, but those refs sucked.

Thought they were bad - missed calls both ways. The carry was the worst call I have seen in a long time. I actually thought the young one was the worst one -

Yes, CU had more fouls in the second half, but there were a number of bad calls by the refs. I don't want to sound like an Arkansas fan in that the refs have it out for us, but how about the one non-call late in the second half when McCoy had the ball and the CU player reached over him and "slapped" his hand. With the limited attendance you could hear the slap around Moody.
The palming call late in the game was also ridiculous. But the best worst call of all was the continuation shot with seconds left that the CU player was given when he was fouled. He was clearly in the act of shooting, but he then took two steps prior to launching the ball. The refs reviewed the shot to determine whether the shot was a three or a two. That could have tied the game if they gave him the three and he made the FT.
I was wondering whether the refs were Big 12. Either that or they were supposed to be calling the McCullough Middle School game in HP and came to Moody by mistake.
