Concession Woes

Decent crowd tonight BUT they only had 2 concession stands open (one on each side), was always about 30 people in line and half time was unimaginable.

No excuse for this, really bush league, losing money and making your fans angry, especially those with families. Have to either miss half a half waiting in line or tell your kids, "sorry the lines are too long".

Get it together SMU!

Lines were down the hallway at halftime, I guess SMU doesn't need the money.

Also something which reflected badly on the athletic department was the ticket-office at the front of Moody ran out of tickets with about 20 people in the line and took easily 5 minutes to get some more for the printer. Luckily people were laughing about it but it was pretty embarrassing.

The program is not a joke. There are game day issues - that need fixin - but to say the program is a joke it to have your head where the sun dont shine.

Indeed, the worst concessions I've ever experienced at a college venue

Actually, you should consider yourself lucky. There were 2 concession stands open tonight, most games there is only one.

Anyone see Mr. Orsini at the game last night? Is he aware of this not anywhere near Top 25, not even near High School concessions situation? I too could not spend any money at concessions due to the extremely long and slow lines. People with kids and families attend games for enjoyment and food and drink is a part of that. Come on Steve Orsini who is in charge of this? Wouldn't a Sat night game warrant more concession stands being open? This DOES NOT happen at TCU.

I think concessions at SMU basketball games is strictly an afterthought to those in charge. It has been a joke for years.

if you think these consumer issues are bad now, wait (hope is eternal) until we actually draw a crowd...parking will be even worse...they dont plan ahead of the moment....they womder why attendance is low...first,of course, is the w/l record....but aside from that the whole scene is juvenile...the stupid games on the court, the concession stands, the ticket office....you name it...how about the folks helping you find your seats..."sit anywhere..." or "no,you cant come in here..." SMU is bush ...certainly not top 25....orsini sits quietly off to the side, but is observant, but i dont know if he has parking and facility control....

Orsini was made aware last night and said he would take care of it so we will see. I was actually going to find him at halftime and one of the Special Delivery guys had beat me to it complaining. Funny thing is, Orsini was a bit suprised, he thought we had two open on each side, I walked with them over to the side where he saw it and he gave a "thumbs up" and said he would handle it.

This will be a good test to see if anything really is done, after he said there would be.

Only two concession stands and two ticket windows open is unexcusable. You do what every other school does, you either farm that out to an outside company, or maybe better in our case, you take advantage of your students and cheap labor and have them manning all the stands and ticket windows.

Concessions is hired out. The department doesn't handle those directly, although someone should've know UTEP always brings a decent crowd that makes up at least 60% of actual attendence.

I wasn't able to go to the game last night. Only one ticket office window open? Isn't there usually two open and then the window inside?

The concession situation has been pathetic forever. Those manning the concession windows booths don't have a clue! They should have pre-poured drinks, pre-wrapped hot dogs, etc.

Now, it takes minutes to get a drink- draw, let the foam subside, and draw some more. At half, they should have several drinks already poured.

This applies to football games as well.

Tickets- also pathetic. Someone has to be held accountable.
