anyone know what it was? I guess DMN can't afford to run those figures in the writeup anymore.
Honestly, I was impressed with the turnout vs UTEP, and even moreso last night vs Tulane..there was a Stars game at 1, then we were head to head with the Mavs game, and school still isn't in session. One would think the crowds would be even better after this week, but we'll see.
I really am looking forward to Feb 4. Those 5 or 6 minutes when the Memphis game will be close, and with Moody looking the way it's supposed to look, are always one of the season highlights.

I too was really suprised at the crowd last night, nice turnout to watch a couple of struggling teams. Attendance was listed at 2,918 which looked about right.

I thought I was at a HPHS football game with all the yardapes running around - screaming, sword fighting with rolled-up Bamba posters and continually running through the aisles and up and down the stairs. I know, they're a great source of concession revenue but - good grief! I guess as long as they are 10 rows down from the goofball dads, it's all good. No usher around to ask them to be seated or settle down - but they sure as he11 will check your ticket and a photo ID to get into section PP. I'll look at the bright side, though... at least they were not at home glued to a computer screen or video game. If they are the future Mustang backers, we're gonna have some hyped-up, wild and crazy, vocal fans.

Heh, they were entertaining, lots of little rafter lurkers having fun up there, there were a few ushers that went up and got them to settle down, and at least they were cool about it, didn't totally ruin their fun, just told them to be careful. Bamba Poster sword duels are fun for the whole family.
I remember a few years back when a teenager would be into the game with his SMU Mustang Hobby horse and during a timeout, he was galloping around the upper tier, having fun and firing people up and a 400 lb Lady Campus Cop came lumbering up the ailse as fast as she could to go apprehend the kid like the crime of the century had just been committed.

I have no problems with the kids @ the games.
The kids in our section seemed to be having a great time going on the court before the game making a tunnel for the players to run through.
It was also fun to see them cheering for the Ponies & yelling S M U.
SMU really has some good family/kid promotions & the program needs the attendance.

If you took all of the groups of ankle bitters out, we would have been down to 1,900 or so.

What promos brought in the kids? My kids were in bed by 8:00. I'd only make half the game with the kids, loaded up with drink and popcorn at the half (or earlier) of course.

SMU hosted a youth b-ball clinic that morning and while there was no charge for the clinic, you had to purchase a ticket to the game to attend the clinic. There is another clinic scheduled for February 28, and we play Tulsa at home that night.

You got to show ID to go take a leak now at Moody? Orsini needs to be made aware of this.
