for Wake Forest to lose the #1 spot and for South Carolina to steal our sportscenter highlight. SC went the length of the floor and hit a lay-in as the backboard lit up to beat # 24 Florida by 1 pt.

Maybe there will be time for both plays in the highlight reels?

Clemson is 0-53 all time in chapel Hill at UNC. If the Tigers, down 45-40 at the half, pull it off, there's your lead story. Remember, last year Clemson had a huge lead there and coughed it up.

Cats' should be on a 3-game winning streak. Should have beaten Purdue last week, pretty much stuck it to the Gophers and then this.

This is why college basketball is so much fun.

Also, a pretty good game going on between BYU and UNLV and two good players in UNLV's Wink Adams and BYU's Lee Cummard. On CBSCTV.

I'm a huge Vegas fan, but they aren't nearly as deep as they thought they'd be. Beas Hamga being a 5 star, 7ft bust, hurt their chances this year. Next year, Kruger will start transfers from Kentucky, Memphis & UCLA, not to mention his first high end recruiting class.

Wink Adams taking over in the 2nd. Hate me some Lee Cummard. Go Rebels!

Likewise. I lived there for 17 years and started watching their games in the old Las Vegas Convention Center. Held about 6,000 people. The oldtimers still talk about that 1977 Final Four team with Reggie Theus, Glen Gonderzik, Larry Brown(?). I think Tony Smith came a couple of years afterwards. Lost to UNC but beat UNC-Charlotte in the consolation game. I think I have that right.

My dad is still a Tark fan and has been crusty toward Kruger. I told him that Kruger has been the best thing to happen to that program since Tark left.

Yea, you have that right, I believe. Those teams would go anywhere, any time, and play the best in their home arena. My Dad was very close w/Lefty at Maryland and he and Tark were friends. The laughs they'd share about recruiting Albert King and Armen Gilliam I'll always remember. Gonderzik was the UNLV color or play by play guy, I believe, until this year. Had a stroke or something fairly tragic. Not sure if he's expected back or not

What also is making me feel old is that the TV analyst Greg Anthony was a senior at Rancho High School in LV when I was a sophomore. He was an amazing recruit and really the first legit city recruit Tark recruited, outside of his son Danny, who played at Bishop Gorman.

Yea, Anthony was a huge recruit. The area still doesn't produce bigs, but they are churning out high major guards now. Gorman is still very good, best school not named Findlay in Henderson. Speaking of which, Cliff Findlay may have been on that 77 team. I think after Anthony, the biggest UNLV recruit from Vegas was H Waldeman, who never panned out, but got a ton of press.

H played at Clark and wound up transferring to St. Louis after UNLV. I can remember his HS coach Hal Overhaulzer (sp) say to him during a game, "Hey H, how about playing our game, not yours.''

Clark had what I consider the best LV high school player in recent memory, which was Kevin Gaines. Kid was unstoppable, signed w/Michigan and promptly got in trouble. Transferred to Houston, but don't know if he ever suited up. His senior year was PG central in the desert. Gaines @ Clark, Marcus Banks @ Cimarron-Memorial, and CJ Watson @ Gorman. 2 of the 3 are rich from NBA paychecks
