This is just another example of the goldmine Doh is sitting on top of & not taking advantage of. Let's hope that in Oct 2009 the freakin top talent in JUCO ball is scrimmaging @ Moody & Crum & not @ Baylor, TCU or Wylie!

When you look @ the attachment you will see the schedule for Midland JC, a national powerhouse JUCO progam.
Look @ the top of the schedule & you will notice that their scrimmage schedule is also listed.
Take a look @ the 2 scrimmages @ Baylor & the scrimmage @ TCU.
Also, take a look @ the other scrimmage location, Wylie.
WTF, Wylie? Please tell me why this wasn't @ Moody & or Crum.

These teams that were @ these scrimmages are some of the best JUCO programs in the country. Chipola is # 1 & is loaded with 4 of the top 20 players in the country. Midland#4, Collin County #17, Coffeyville #30.

Also, take a look @ the Midland HC bio. Compare his resume to someone like Farmer or Lutz, our recruiting coordinator.
I've got alot of questions about the staff he has assembled around him.

This is the type of coach I would want as a top assistant or recruiting coordinatior sitting next to my HC.
You don't see a JUCO HC jump to the D1 HC level much but Ronnie Arrow @ South Alabama has done it successfully.


Prior to South Alabama, Arrow served as head coach at San Jacinto Junior College from 1977-87. He tallied an impressive 302-43 (87.5%) record and guided the Ravens to 10 TJCAC titles, as well as NJCAA championships in 1983, ’84 and ’86. He was tabbed the NJCAA Region XIV Coach of the Year in 1983,’84,’86,’87, and the National Coach of the Year in 1983 and 1986. His 1985-86 squad led the nation in scoring, averaging 101 points per game.

 In junior college, Arrow coached several players who went on to enjoy careers in the National Basketball Association: Walter Berry, Alton Lister, Ladell Eackles and Larry Spriggs. Additionally, he led the 1989 United States Junior World Cup Team to the gold medal in Uruguay with future NBA stars Grant Hill, Calbert Cheaney and Allan Houston.

BTW, read Pat Forde's weekly college hoops thing on ESPN about how Ronnie Arrow went nuts at UL-Lafayette and apparently dropped an f-bomb toward the school president about them not having a monitor in the gym on some late shot.

Arrow is a good guy and a great coach. Started the program at A&M - Corpus from scratch and led them to the NCAAs before he went back to South Alabama.

Great example. Built the program at Long Beach St and made UNLV into a traditional power. Couldn't get enough of him chewing on the towels from the LVCC to the T&M.

BTW, those old chairs at the convention center were crappy.

The Midland College Mens Basketball program is year in year out one of the better programs in the country. Living out here I am a season ticket holder and make most of the home games. Doh would be wise to monitor this program if he is not already doing so.

Kavon Lytch, the best player on the team, is a very physical player and likes to mix it up inside.

My fav JC coach was ol Ned Fowler over @ Tyler JC.
Had a great program & took the big jump to Tulane.
The big scandal ($$ in the shoebox, etc) hit the Wave while Ned was @ the helm & they ended up shuttin her down for 4 years.
