Iowa St.'s Denny Clemente has scored all 17 points for Iowa St in the 2nd half against Texas including 4 straight 3 pointers and the "Coach" takes him out. Do these guys outhink themselves sometimes? I'd rather call a timeout than take a guy out like that.

Well, I would take out the Iowa State kid and put in 21 for Kansas St.

Correctomundo. Texas erases 17 point deficit in about 9 minutes. Overtime

Announcers claimed that Denny Clemente's 44 points was an Opponents record against UT. Not so fast-Gene Phillips hit 51 against the Horns in Gregory Gym in about 1970.
Great Story about Phillips feat

Ha! Phillips was 20 for 38 against UT that nite(no 3 point plays in those days-surely some of those would have been 3 pointers)

SMU's entire team only made 19 FGs today. and missed 55. Phillips probably outscored the SMU team if you took away 3 pointers.

When is it time to start to question Doherty's ability?
