Dia and Faye vs. Tulsa

Dia plays 11 minutes -- not shots, 2 rebounds and pretty much continues to steal his scholarship

Faye (or Fade) -- 1-9 from the field for 2 points. So he's like 2 for his last 17 from the floor. Fill it up big fella!

That front cout continues to take your breath away, doesn't it? I really feel bad for McCoy and Williams because they have no help. And they really haven't had it all year.

Thanks, Matt for bringing this program to its knees.

McCoy and Williams are here because of Doherty and Doherty wasn't out there shooting for Faye, so I really don't see what the connection is about Matt bringing the program to its knees.

Gotta stick with Faye and let him work through it, we need his athletcism on the floor.

Not sure why you have turned so negative against the basketball team, no one is happy about where things are, but you have just become a troll as far as the men's team goes trying to post all the negatives and yank people's chains, split your time equally, go over to the football boards and trash June for going 1-11 and lowering the offensive and defensive production of Phil and his men from last year with the same players.

no mention of Dia's health as his minutes are decreasing. I just have to wonder if his back problems are playing a part in this.

I've wondered that too. With all the criticism which appears to be justified-Is there another side to the story. But I haven't heard one since the offseason when it was suggested that Dia had a serious back injury.

the disc bulge/herniation was a problem that was talked about even before his FR year. I thought there was even talk of surgery and a RS year to rehab. Might not be a bad idea if it is, in fact, the reason for his seemingly "slow" development

If Matt isn't talking about it, then I would gather there is nothing wrong.

Good thinking.

Because coaches always discuss players medical issues.

Especially in an era in which coaches and university personnel - at all schools - ARE PROHIBITED from discussing any athlete's injury if that athlete hasn't signed a waiver allowing the coach and/or school to comment.

I assume Mike Tomlin and Ken Wisenhunt won't call any plays in the Super Bowl since they haven't discussed their playbook openly, either.

Ah, smart guy, that hasn't prevented Matt from talking about it in the past. Or blogging about it either.

And, we probably would have never known Dia ever had a back issue unless Doherty ever spoke about it.

If you're going to come after me, be smart about it. Higher Authority, my butt cheeks.

coach doherty's players did win the ship at UNC...i dont understand how you can have such high expectations for this team. we are a bunch of freshman and sophomores. undersized and under developed yet putting in the minutes. there are no leaders yet because its tough for a freshman to get after bamba for setting up too high on the post. i don't quite get it general. who could realistically make this ship sail this year?

Quit ruining his rant by bringing logic into the equation.

Right - you can't win with freshmen and sophmores.

I just posted what the front court did against Tulsa and added a little commentary. If they had won, I probably would have found some of the interesting numbers from the win and pointed them out.

I'm really stunned that some of you are using the "That's OK, we're going to be good next year or these guys are young or what have you.''

I'm sick of it. When you're in year 3 of a coaching administration -- academic restrictions or not -- this is the year where your program has to take the next step.

And you freaking don't lose to UAPB and UTSA AT HOME. I gave Doherty a pass for 2 years. I'm not doing it anymore.

When the preseason predictions poll came out, I said 13-16 and about 7-11 in conference (go find the thread if you don't believe me). So no, I didn't expect postseason play, but I certainly expected a reason to feel good about 2009-2010.

Hell, we're not even close to that. This is a step backwards.

Usually u can see some positives trends in a team that is building a strong nucleus for the future. I thought I saw some positives @ times in the early portion of the season. But the team has tanked & now its back to "wait til next year" again.
I just can't understand how we can't win 5 or 6 home games & @ least 1 road game in this sorry conference.
I'm a die-hard too & I understand your frustration.
