Moody can be a great gym!

The floor is as classic as it gets. The look/feel/vibe of the place is old school. It has a few people in it right now, so you get a feel what it could be like if the team were more competitive.

Right now 20-17 Memphis. They are superior athletically, but McCoy/Nyakundi came to play, two freshmen. Gotta hit the boards
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Need to clean the glass on defense. Also, need additional toughness. The freshman class is gonna be pretty decent, if they stick together and get some more players in here. McCoy, Nyakundi, Otis & Haynes are pretty nice.

That's why I love this program because if this thing ever gets going, it could be such a difficult place to play in for opponents.

That 2-3 mins in the 2nd half of alley oop dunk, williams 3 was the loudest and best I've seen the Moody crowd since I was in school during the sasser, willie davis days...

In the 3 years of being at SMU, I have never ever seen Moody like that. There is Hope, there is.

the good thing about tonight was most people were there to watch memphis, but they werent memphis fans. usually when we draw a great crowd its with half of the other schools fans.

Thanks for the seats RGV! Only bad thing, were the the trash talking, obnoxious Memphis fans sitting in the area behind us.

Agreed- we could have a great home court advantage if we could get more students out to the games. If this ever happens, I'd like to see us put the student section right on the court like they do at Cameron Indoor and move the "Premium" seats (if you can call them that) behind the benches. Get the students as close as possible to the action.

Oh and one other thing- didn't we just get that "new" scoreboard like two years ago? I can barely make out some of the smaller type that's displayed on it, as it looks like a product of the mid-90's.

If Missouri State can get this, than surely SMU can upgrade a little bit:

yeah, sometimes it seems like the ticket folks have the same problems in bball as in football. Also ironic to me how I have friends that call and try to buy those seats only to be told no can do...but somehow Memphis folks, Houston folks, UTEP folks seem able to do so.

Was suprised how few "real" memphis fans was there and by how many "real" fans we had. I guess the game being during the week, not as many traveled to the game. I was expecting a sea of blue and a 50/50 crowd split, but they brought the fewest fans they ever had here to Dallas and we were well represented.

Looking forward to the Tulsa game on February 28th, they are playing well and always bring a ton of fans, In fact back in the Sasser days and Tulsa and SMU were near the top of the WAC, this game would be a virtual sellout and I expect more in Moody then than were there last night.

To bad the Mavs played @ home last night to. Might have had a few more @ the game.
Also, Moody is a great place to watch a game. One of my favs along with the Pit @ New Mexico.
