my game night experienceI was out and about last night so I wasn't able to watch the game on Metro Sports but I had no worries because I could follow my Ponies on 770AM, right? Well, I forgot to consider that since I was driving around the rural outposts of Lakewood and Uptown I couldn't get the 770 signal very well. I guess it was stupid of me to think I could hear an SMU game on the radio since I was at least 5 minutes away from the campus in the heart of Dallas?? Luckily, at one point when I was at the McKinney/Lemmon intersection I was able to make out that we were up 30 something to 20 something at some point in the game.....later around Abrams and Mockingbird I was able to fight through the static to hear Rich as he broadcasted out of his deep hole tell me we were up 8, or maybe it was 6 with some amount of time left?? But on the bright side, I was able to switch over to ESPN 103.3, the home of our rivals - TCU, and hear the Mavs broadcast - which came in loud and clear on a professionally ran radio station. SMU: top 25 in everything we do!

Re: my game night experience
I think only TCU football is on ESPN. If basketball's on there at all, it's rare. They seem to always get bumped to one of the lesser stations. Last game, they were on 1460 AM according to thier website. SMU used to be on 660, now 770. That's a wash to me. I agree that the 770 signal can be iffy in areas, but at least they stream online. I guess the question is, where would you want them? The Ticket's not going to be interested since they run the Top-10 every night, ESPN's got the Mavs and I'm guessing KRLD is a bit pricey. Any ideas?
Their next game (Sat) is on ESPN 103.3 according to their website http://gofrogs.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl ... sched.html As for where I would want them - any station that is audible in the city of Dallas would work for me. It was maddening trying to listen to that mess last night. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

TCU basketball is on ESPN radio, I've heard it several times. I've come across the same problem listening to games on 770. I couldn't even hear the post game after leaving Moody when I reached downtown...
that's unacceptable. SMU makes it really hard for the small fanbase it has to be a fan.......I just don't get it. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: my game night experience
TCU basketball is broadcast on 88.7 FM. I believe its the TCU radio station. I cannot pick up SMU BB on 770 in Fort Worth. It sucks! [deleted] Dang Sweet Perunatang!
thanks to all the great fans in the area that complain about not being able to listen to the game on the radio. buy a ticket and come to the game!!!
maybe with more revenue, SMU would be able to get on an FM station, then you could listen to it there after the game was sold out. great fans! and yes, that was loaded with sarcasm.
The internet stream is usually flawless, but they had some type of problem last night, the volume was very low and cut in and out, regardless if you listened on the radio or over the internet. The signal of 770am is a problem, but usually the quality is good, something was just up last night. Womack + Wishbone = Heisman

well, I didn't get off until 5:30p and I was unable to make it out to El Paso by 8p. I guess that keeps me from being a GREAT FAN! I've been to every home but two this year. maybe that makes me just an okay fan? But I don't think it is asking too much for us to have our games broadcast on a radio station you hear if you live in Dallas. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Actually, I like KAAM 770. Yeah, I know the audio can be iffy at times. But by comparison, the signal isn't bad. 820 won't give up newstalk. 1080 has UT hoops, 660 is newstalk as well and it used to have UT. We used to be on 660 years ago when it was a Christian station, but when they changed the format and increased the signal, we weren't long for it.
So there are really not many places to go. To me, we got the best option available. Nothing on FM is going to stick because of 103.3 and 105.3.
dude, the game was in El Paso. I think we are lucky to have The Ticket for SMU fball considering I doubt any of their listeners want to hear it. TCU bball is always on ESPN and I have to change the channel. I agree, I think we can do a little better. If you are driving around campus you can't even hear the postgame interview.
