Did anyone think that Paul was moving at half speed last night? I thought he might have caught the flu bug that was going around SMU??

He also just may be a little worn out. Guy has averaged 35 minutes per game for nearly 30 games, straight out of high school.

Paul McCoy is a player. You can bet he was giving 110% of whatever he had to give. He's off to a terrific start.

I really didn't notice McCoy moving any slower......for the most part he has been terrific this year - our best player. As for what Icon said above - I just don’t buy it. The NBA is different with 82 games and the preseason for rookies but I find it hard to believe an 18-20 year old hits a wall after only 30 games. Mentally maybe, physically no.

If you don't think the transition from highschool, to college, as starting PG and lead scorer playing 35 min per game on a pretty poor team, takes a toll on a 19 year old kid- you're crazy.

Talking about how we are still early in the building process here...Doherty said something to the effect that it would be nice to have McCoy and Nyakundi coming off the bench.

Coincidence that both those guys had off nights? I hope so. Hope they weren't feeling unappreciated.

Here's the part of the article I was referring to:

Five Years?

Doherty also said it sometimes takes five years to build a winner, noting that Davidson College, where he was an assistant coach for three years, took five years to win 20 games.

Did Paul hurt his ankle in practice or was this a lingering injury?

Said in the pregame that he could have played but Doherty felt that if they held him out, he would be 100 percent for the first tournament game on Wednesday.
