Thought I heard that had we won, we would have had the 10 seed because we had the tiebreaker with So. Miss and Rice -- not that it would have mattered.
Wasn't the last time we won a tournament game was under Dement in about 02-03 in the WAC? We beat Boise State and lost to Nevada -- a little help.

We won a first round in C-USA under Tubbs I believe, maybe against Rice...I remember we made it to the second round and got creamed by UAB.

1st round loss. I'm not even going to watch - that is how sad this is.
What an awful season. I'm sorry but you can't spin this any other way. Those embarrasing loses were ridiculous this year. We finish LAST.
Doh season 4 here we come with a new project recruit. Does year 5 really get us anywhere? we need about 3 or 4 McCoy types. I just dont see it. He's really going to pay for taking 7 frosh.

SMU is going for most improved team next year. Who wants to bet SMU is last again in conference next year? Pathetic. Doherty sucks. This program sucks. Top 25 my rear.

What's worse:
Lose 11 games in football or win 9 games in basketball?

For some reason, this caught me funny. Maybe it was because I could envision the avatar saying this with a deep country-fried souther accent.

4 victories over what I will call-and I hope nobody would contest-legitimate Division 1A programs in Basketball and ZERO in Football-the 2008-2009 school year will go down as a Year of Infamy. Pony Up!

I assume you mean: Colorado, Rice, Tulane, So Miss as the legitimate D1a programs. However, A&M CC has a better rpi (see Mens oppoenents' rpi thread) than any of those teams (#137) and Alabama St. is higher than a couple of them (#202).
I agree wholeheartedly though. Absolutely terrible by all acounts. The funny thing is, the university is really trying. Couldn't be much worse no matter what we did.

You have to wonder is all this big money ever going to kick in and make us better. We have some of the nicest facilities in C-USA, some of the highest paid coaches, yet still have not been able to produce.
AS SMU fans though, at least the hardcore ones that have stuck with this program since the DP in football, and the last Conference championship in basketball back in '93, we are well conditioned and really tough...Hell, we can do a 1-11 season standing on our heads...Thank you sir, may I have another.

SMU fandom prepared me well for the current economic meltdown...just when I think we've hit bottom, we continue to get worse.
