The number off the top of my head:
1. Game time 3 hours 46 minutes
2. 8 players fouled out between both teams
3. Syracuse PG played 67 of 70 possible minutes
4. Teams attempted something like 95 FTs and well over 200 FGs.
5. I don't think anyone left The Garden.
To me it ranks up there with SMU-UAPB this year. Just kidding.
Actually, from a game standpoint without knowing what was at stake, it was close to Duke-Kentucky, 1991.

When Syracuse had to reach beyond the starting 5 and 2 bench players who see regular playing time, they went to a freshman who had played 20 minutes all season (most likely in a blowout win like Rutgers or some SUNY school) and a walk-on that had only scored 2 points.
I would like to see Daugherty use 7 players to develop chemistry. I think the revolving door he has at the scorers table mentally affects the players.
They play with the fear they will be yanked for the slightest mistake and have to get use to numerous combinations of players on the floor. Work hard off the game floor (practice, weight room, classroom) to make the top 7.

Posted: Fri Mar 13, 2009 10:22 amAnd once again Thabeet can't deliver in the clutch. In my opinion he is one of the most overrated players among the college basketball elite. How many times in the closing seconds of regulation and the first couple of overtimes (before he fouled out) did he get muscled off a rebound?
It was a great game though, I just feel sorry for Jay Bilas, having to sit next to Raftery for 4 hours.
