Required Viewing for Papa

The FSU - UNC game today should be required viewing for Papa for next year. The play of Alabi and Hansbrough against each other was fun to watch and a primer on how to play the position. These 2 went at it always trying to gain position on each other and really put on a show of how to play low post. Alabi is a carbon copy of Bamba but he successfully staked out his position through his use of good fundamentals. Papa could learn a lot just by viewing this game over and over. The other takeaway for Papa???? You can't be a afraid of physicality - you have to bump and grind.........

Last thing, FSU is really good at positioning for back side rebounding - something our players obviously don't or won't understand..................

not sure the will to compete and toughness is something you can pickup in your junior year or by watching others, but lets hope. Now, boxing out on rebounds is something you can learn at any age or ability. It was mind boggling to watch a college team continually not box out. Otis might be the exception but there were so many times this year that our guys just didnt do it.

I think it's more about accepting a roll. I don't see a guy on this roster (other than Otis) who has shown a desire to be the board eater that this team really needs right now. I'd love to see Dia step up and become that guy who gets 8-9 boards every night out and scores close to double figures on offensive boards and put backs along with more FTs
