Let the Papa Dia Scrutiny Begin

I'm serious folks. After the ridiculous season he threw down last year, he has no where to go but up. I have not heard what kind of training camp he had or how he did in the exhibitions.

But it really doesn't matter now. They start to count against South Florida. Dia is capable of 13 and 8 every night. He's that talented. But there better be some effort. There better some courage. This season really depends on if he is going to make McCoy and Williams that much more effective from the perimeter and help them in their dribble penetration.

We have got to get the heat off the guards. I'm Dia's toughest critic and will remain that way and he SHOWS differently.

A solid Papa Dia season means potential winning season and who knows after that.
A 2008-09 Papa Dia season means this ship is running off the rails.

You win with guard play but you're a much more difficult team to defend if you have something in the low post. Dia needs to get it done or he is going to find himself sitting at the end of the bench by the middle of the season.

He did not show much last night...he is just not aggresive..he still uses his fall back shot...but the whole team looked unimproved to me.

Dia is a non-factor. The guy is not very good, period. Not much to talk about really anymore.

Dia generally looked lost and undisciplined.

When he did what he was supposed to do he did well. A rare event.

Without him being an offensive presense down low we will be a lot of what we saw vs. USF. A lot of pressure up top.

Dia is playing pretty well tonight (and didn't play all that badly against S Florida)

11 pts and 5 boards. I'd say he's playing pretty well

I'm listening to it. Again, his talent can take him a long way. But then when you throw up 17-footers, that's not your game.

Actually scratch that.., Dia is playing downright GREAT tonight. SMU down by 4 with 9:43 left in the game and Dia's line thus far is....

4-8 for 11pts, 5 reb, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block.

And as bad as everyone made his game 1 out to be he did pull down 8 rebounds while chipping in 6 points.

Think he's up to 13 now. But that line is what it should be in 80 percent of the games this year.
