Jelan Kendrick switched it up. Originally he was planning to wait until the spring, now he's off the board.

Jelan Kendrick had a change of heart.
Just a week ago, Kendrick, a 6-foot-5 senior small forward, told Scout.com that his chances of signing early were "slim to zero." Well it looks like the slim part won out.

Kendrick, a recent transfer to Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler, announced his college decision at a press conference at 6:30 CST at the Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis.

Kendrick announced his intentions to play his college basketball at Memphis.

Georgetown, Indiana, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Oregon and Miami were all involved in the five-star prospects recruitment.

Kendrick joins an already star studded recruiting class that features a pair of other five-star prospects -- Will Barton and Joe Jackson. To go with those three, Josh Pastner also has Chris Crawford, Hippolyte Tsafack and Antonio Barton in the fold.

So I think it's safe to say that this season could be wide open in C-USA but Memphis will be right back on top by next season...
