80-70 - ridiculous run by Hampton. They're hitting 3s from everywhere and getting a lot of steals.
1:29 to go

It seemed like all of those 3s were in that second-half run PonyPower mentioned. The Mustangs had a few turnovers and Hampton started heaving in 3s, cutting the margin to as little as nine points, I think.

The Ponies are going to have to play better Saturday in the final of the Hoops for the Cure tournament. SMU will face Boston College, which has a 6-foot-6 center who can run. I don't have a stat sheet in front of me, but I it seemed like the offense was more perimeter-driven than usual. SMU got the ball inside, but it would pop back out and Samuels, Gilliam, Filmore, etc. took over. Inside, Severin was solid and Elliott had her moments, but overall, the inside play was very inconsistent last night, and needs to improve Saturday night for the Ponies to have a chance at improving to 6-0.
