Hawaii Tournament

Postby SMU Kilmer » Sat Dec 05, 2009 10:52 am

I remember reading somewhere that men's hoops would be in Hawaii around Christmas. Does anyone know what the dates are?

This tournament could easily turn out to be a big embarassment for us. And perhaps the final nail in Doh's coffin.

GO PONIES!!!

The tourney has a great group of teams. Very much on par w/where SMU should be as a program right now. We'll see how we match up. I'm excited for it

I'm hoping for a SMU vs C of C 2nd round game. Have been curious for the past several years how we would match up with the Cougs

C of C looked good in dispatching Davidson (not the same team w/o Curry) today. I'd like to see how McCoy/Williams will match up against Andrew Goudelock

No you have to get tics out there from the Tournament. Based upon what others have said we can just get our tics out there and sit where we want. See you out there Pony_Fan!

UNLV is ranked 17th and has a nice road win at Arizona.

This is a team that had some good people coming to it and now the great Lon Kruger has them cooking.

Kruger is going to wipe the floor with Doherty. That game could be an absolute whipping.

The biggest issue is UNLVs athleticism and depth. Should they choose to, they could press us relentlessly, and we'd just turn it over. In the last 10 days, they've beaten Louisville, Arizona at Zona, and Santa Clara on the road. They don't have a ton of size, but are well coached, are athletic and can shoot. On paper, it's looking like a big day in the Doh era. I'd think Hawaii would be a pretty solid measuring stick. A high major and several high mids in that field.

I see UNLV, and 4 teams with losing records. Charleston got over .500 by beating UNC-Greensboro last night, but they're only 4-3. Who are the high mids?
