I've been giving this a lot of thought
& here's my top 2.
My top choice is Russ Springmann @ UT.
He was my top choice last season when
I thought S O should have made the move
day 1 after the CUSA tourney loss to U of H.
2nd choice if he can be had ($$$$) is current
Western Kentucky HC & former U T asst
Ken McDoonald. Props 2 PonyDoh
for bringing him to my attention. If I go
current HC route this is target # 1.
Both are great recruiters & know Texas extremely
well.

While William and Mary is my other alma mater. Tony Shaver is beginning to look like a hot property. Wins over VCU, Wake Forest and Maryland on the road at a school with notorious academic restrictions.

This is a great William & Mary team, and I love the way they play, but Shaver isn't a spring chicken. He hasn't coached outside of Virginia since the 80s etc

I support the program, not necessarily coaches. When Dement was here, I was Mullet Mike. During Tubbs run, I forget. Whoever is next gets a new name.

The only trouble with Shaver is that he's from UNC as well and thus would probably not want to come here where another Heel failed. I remember when he was coaching at Episcopal High School in Alexandria (my High School's arch rival), and did a great job there.
