UNIVERSITY PARK – The SMU women earned more than a win in Friday's 73-54 domination of Rice.
The Mustangs also washed away the bitter taste left over from a recent road swing.
SMU (16-7, 6-4 Conference USA) had lost three of its last four games, all on the road. It started with a 61-58 loss to Rice and ended with a 78-59 humiliation at Tulane.
"We didn't want to just redeem ourselves," SMU coach Rhonda Rompola said.
"We wanted to make a statement."
