SMU is doing a poor job on the defensive boards and now the score is 40-38. No blocking out by SMU.

Lack of defensive boards if what I am witnessing is accurate for the rest of the season. A lazy zone is a painful thing to watch.

The Ladies are doing a much better job blocking out and hitting 3 pointers. That is the difference in the game now.

Final score:
SMU 74
Marshall 64
Game-high 21 points for Jillian Samuels, who went 7-for-11 from the floor and 5-for-9 on three-pointers.
Samuels now has 235 three-pointers in her career — with two more, she'll break the all-time SMU record, held by former SMU guard Andrea Cossey.
Other notables:
Brittany Gilliam had 17 points and a game-high 3 steals
Christine Elliott had another double-double — 14 points and 10 rebounds
The Ponies return to action at 7 p.m. Thursday, when they host UCF at Moody Coliseum.

They're down to 8 healthy, eligible players, and 2 freshmen are playing a bigger role than they were really ready for. There are 2 transfers sitting out this year who wont be eligible until the fall, and Delisha Wills, Raquel Christian, and Alice Severin are out, that's 2 all-conference caliber players, and a key role player. Sarah Shelton was supposed to be redshirted this year, but with Wills and Severin injured she's now starting in the post for us. Alicia Filmore has also started 5 games, and has had to play a bigger role than planned. They're all worn down a bit, but they close the season with 3 home games. If they can sweep the homestand they should still get a first round bye in the conference tournament.

Hope she's OK. We need her by the conference tournament, and preferably before.

She could possibly return in 2 more weeks, which would mean playing in the conference tournament. Scans show nothing torn, and she's able to walk on it, now. Rehab is going well, and she may be back for the tourney.

It would be nice if she can give it a go on Senior Night, but it sounds like you're guessing that's not likely.

I wasnt really guessing, thats what Rhonda said before the UCF game, and Alices parents confirmed when I talked to them. It would have been nice for her to play on Senior Night, but I think its probably more important that she rest until she's completely healthy. The good news is that it does look like she'll be back for the tournament.
As of Wednesday night there was no prognosis on Christine Elliott, or when she might be back.
