Rice-ex joins Ross in Washington

Saw this in the Baltimore Sun:

The Washington Wizards signed forward Mike Harris to a 10-day contract after losing Josh Howard for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Harris, 6 feet 6, was averaging 26.3 points and 9.8 rebounds in 28 games for Rio Grande Valley in the NBA Development League.

I remember watching Harris play, and remember being impressed.

I think he is in the NBDL, but remember hearing Charles Barkley make a snide remark about him during the All-star game broadcast on TNT and Ernie Johnson subsequently saying something about it being an inside joke. I am curious to know what that was all about.
