What would it take for any of you guys to make the trip up to Tulsa? When is it? Is the first round game on a Thursday? Depending on the opponent, and how the next week pans out, I'll say I'm considering it..

Depends on our seed. I would guess we play on the 11th.

Hey it may be a fun trip....I may be in. We would play on the 10th of March, depending on the seeding. Here is the link:

How does Tulsa have the tiebreaker against us? If we beat them we would have split. We would need to beat Marshall and have them lose to Memphis of course. That said, the 6th seed would not be bad as we would likely face Tulane in the opening round pretty much guaranteeing a .500 or better CUSA tournament record.

This is not true, SMU COULD still get the 5th seed. Here is the tiebreaker from the CUSA website:

TWO-TEAM TIE.
1. Results of head-to-head competition during the regular season.
2. Each team's record vs. the team with the highest winning percentage in the final regular
season standings (or in the case of a tie for the championship, the next highest winning
percentage in the regular season standings) continuing down through the standings until
one team gains an advantage.

If we won out and Tulsa loses at Memphis, we would be the #5 seed.

SMU and tulsa would be tied at 9-7, and would have split the season series. Going to the number 2 tiebreaker, we would both be 0-2 against UTEP. We both lost to UAB, that leaves Memphis, we were 1-1 against them, Tulsa was 0-2. We win the tiebreaker.

Lots of IFs there, but we still have a shot at the fifth seed.

Our record against UTEP is .000. What's Tulsa's? I think .000 as well.

That is true, but you continue down through the standings until one team gains an advantage. That would be us when we hit Memphis.
