Here's what I was trying to remember last night. He listed a few programs that 'took some time'. Not one mentioned took more than four years, much less seven.

edit: I guess his mention of Mack Brown was more than four. My bad.

This link supports the idea that Doherty is on course to turn things around as his the team did spike the first year and has slowly progressed (very slowly, crawled). This link is actually the biggest factor to keep him as head coach as based on what he said he seems to know exactly what he is doing. Not saying the results prove that, but the results are on par with what he said in this and in another blog.
