NORM JUST KILLED DOH/SMU ON THE TICKET

Noticing a theme yet?? Norm just killed us on his show, basically said 7 of our wins came against florida gulf coast, tillotson, occidental, nc central, army, occidental, and texas state (along we lost to them as well) and 2 more against rice and tulane...so he said 9 of our 14 wins were completely gift wrapped for us...and to win only 5 remaining 22 games on the schedule is a complete and utter embarrassment. He then basically ripped Doh for this "tough schedule" comments and Orsini for this "progress" comments...nothing that 14, 10, 9, and back to 14 wins is hardly progress.

A lot of publicity for SMU Bball lately in the DMN, Observer, and The Ticket...too bad it is all WTF type publicity. What a freakin joke

if SMU could do one thing that would help reel in the casual Dallas fan, it would be to become 'The Ticket's Team". The little Mustangs, just like the little Mavs. The little private school that could. Yep, hate them if you want, but they are the ratings king, and one of their prominent voices is our football voice. Norm should kill SMU when we suck, and when we dont he should have Doh on once a week. Whatever it takes, that would do a lot more than some of the other crap we've tried.

If money is the issue, then I can't imagine there couldn't be a Circle of Champions for basketball. Doherty has to go.

Doh should have been fired after last season but the athletic department does not have the money. Doh wrecked a NC team loaded with high school All-Americans but he was National Coach of the Year so I understand the hire. Let's get reaslistic SMU and admit this was an utter disaster of a hire. The lack of attendance at the games is telling on what the local fan base thinks of Doh. SMU needs to hire a coach that can get the local kids interested in coming to SMU. If you cannot recruit in your own backyard how are you going to recruit in someone else's backyard. Doh and Orsini should be ripped for the state of the men's basketball team. I am glad some people still pay attention enough to notice.

Wow...didn't hear Norm, but I guarantee that was the only SMU basketball talk all year on his show. Can't believe they backed Doh with generic talk so quickly...didn't know if I should laugh or cry when I read the "maybe our schedule was too tough this year." Thanks Doh...

Yeah SMU was really going to can a coach after only three years, RIGHT after canning a coach after only two seasons and not doing it in a particularly clean fashion. Uh huh, that would make this job so attractive to potential coaching candidates who could coach at a school that pulls their chair out from under them before they even sit down. That's an outstanding idea! Not only is this a challenging rebuild job with unique challenges and circumstances surrounding it, but lets just throw the concept of any kind of job security out the window with it! I'm sure we could get some top-notch coaching candidates lined up to take that job.

Although this statement is pretty true and harsh......

"7 of our wins came against florida gulf coast, tillotson, occidental, nc central, army, occidental, and texas state (along we lost to them as well) and 2 more against rice and tulane"

"..and to win only 5 remaining 22 games"

your post (right or wrong) get me slightly optimistic about the recruits and PG coming in....but
that statement above is hard to justify.

I heard Norm. Sounded like he reads Ponyfans.com.
Nothing new. Same old stuff we've all been saying.
Glad to see everyone taking notice of what a [deleted] job Doh is doing. His spin control is total BS.

Norm's voice is too high pitched for me to take him that seriously.

Let's give Doh some credit here. We have improved last year we lost to pretty much everyone.
