the story is that many believe they have Paul Hewitt lined up, and that he's mutually settled w/Ga Tech

ironic. UCF beats us like a step child in the tournament and their coach is the one canned? Orsini is from UCF. Maybe they just have higher expectations at UCF. UCF now supposedly has a very Orsini-esque hire lined up in Hewitt. Sure glad we still have Doh to remind us how great March Madness is though.

It will be interesting to see who GT hires if this all plays out.
I was reading a UCF forum & they were throwing out the name Buzz Peterson.

Under Steve O that 4 yr performance equates to roughly a 15 yr contract extension, not a firing!

So Speraw's worst record since 2000-2001 would have been Doh's best record yet during his tenure on the Hilltop...and Speraw gets fired while Doh keeps cashing checks while 28 games under .500 at SMU. Glad to see our program is headed in the right direction.

doh is a better con man.........remember he played with a guy named jordin - so he knows something about scorin (is that how that song went when he first got here?)

Exactly. Would they fire him if he takes them to the Sweet 16?

Being from Atlanta, I am fairly in tune with the Hewitt situation. He has got a lot of grief from Tech fans, as well as the Atlanta media. Taking out the '04 final four, he has consistently underperformed. I think that after going to the ACC Champ game, and getting to the 2nd round, he will stay at tech, especially if they knock off Ohio State (down 2 at half).

Seaton Hall fires coach after 4 years because record in Big East is not good enough. St. Johns fires baskettball coach after 5 years because he does not have good enough record in Big East and cannot recruit NYC. Both had very competitive teams with reasonable records in rebuilding programs; however, losing too many games in Big East despite losing many by less than 5 points was not deemed sufficient progress.
