Growing up in HP, I went to all the SMU home games in the mid late 70's. Man those were fun teams to watch and Moody was an exciting place to be during SMU home games. That article brought back some names I had not heard mentioned in a long time. Thanks, Mr. Pony for posting the link.
By the way, does anyone know what Sonny Allen's son, Billy, is up to these days? That guy could pass a basketball.

Here's a list of the 71-72 team:
1971-72 SMU Mustangs Head Coach: Bob Prewitt Richard Billik Larry Delzell Rick Fleetwood Mike Holyfield Clayton Korver David Miller Denny Pertle Steve Putnam Bobby Rollings Zachary Theil Ruben Triplett Jack Trout John Tuszynski Assistant Coaches: Mike Pinkham, Neal Kinlund & Lynn Phillips Trainers: Eddie Lane & Gary Jaffa Manager: Joe Parks
The Guards were Billik, Delzell, Bobby Rollins, and Zach Thiel. That's my Final Answer.
