What do all the colons mean?

:D I'm honored...even if you didn't spell my name correctly.

couch 'em - two issues with your analogy. 1) If Doh is fired, I don't plan on disappearing...I'm an SMU fan first and foremost and that won't change with the coaches (unlike those other people). 2) Unlike those guys, I bring relevant facts to the table when necessary. I'm planning a post on our historical RPIs including the Tubbs years to show that this year wasn't as bad as it seemed at times and certainly showed the progress that guys like moodymadmen didn't see.

I will say that I didn't like the way the season ended...it looked like we had regressed.

And to further clarify, had Doh had a 5 year contract (and not the 7 year contract), I would have been in favor of firing him after our performance in the tournament.

This is my point. Lets judge Doh's tenure based on his performance on the court. Arguments can be made about "fit" or recruiting or style of play but at the end of the day the results don't lie. I certainly understand why he wasn't fired...because SMU wouldn't (or couldn't) buy out the remainder of his contract. But the results after 4 years indicates that he should no longer be leading this program and that we will just be wasting our time on Doh next year when we could be making pro-active improvements...that is why I'm so upset with the current state of affairs.

Well, moodymadmen, all I can say to you is this:

1) Be angry at Orsini...focus the hate there.
2) Stick to posting logically functional arguments.

1) No doubt, I'm fuming at Orsini. Not only did he create the problem, he now is unwilling or unable to fix it.
2) I try to stick to the facts. Logical numbers that say Doh should be out such as 28 games under .500 overall, 30 games under .500 in CUSA, 0 CUSA tourney game wins, 0 Dallas recruits, revolving staff, etc.
Or do you mean logical arguments such as this:

[quote="CalallenStang this year wasn't as bad as it seemed at times and certainly showed the progress that guys like moodymadmen didn't see.

I will say that I didn't like the way the season ended...it looked like we had regressed.[/quote]

I'm so confused. So did we progress or regress?? Or was it both, because thats perfectly logical

MoodyMadmen - we progressed through the season, got to the end of the season, and then regressed to where we were at the beginning of the season (or worse). Regardless, our RPI rating was much better this year than it has been in the past 5. Not sure how to take that, right now.

Mr. Pony - it makes a huge difference. If it was a 5 year contract, we would have had to either extend Doh for a year (for recruiting reasons) or fire him...I would not favor an extension. With a 7 year contract, we don't face that dilemma yet and the buyout is much larger.

MoodyMadmen - you've often failed to understand my logic. Is there something that I can do to make my communication clearer? This is a request for constructive criticism regarding my communication. Please take it as such, and limit the criticism to the topic at hand.

No its all good. I'm not going to take any shots because we disagree on certain issues. Whether I agree or disagree I will try to do a better job of grasping your points and I simply ask you do the same. At the end of the day we both want the same thing for SMU hoops, I guess we just differ on how to get there and who will take us there.
