I doubt the term disappears anytime soon but I do think we are getting closer to the point where the selection committee will recognize some of these "non-BCS" conferences are a lot deeper than just their champion. Big East made a great case this year for not "over inviting" the big boys. Meanwhile, the A-10 is having to settle for owning the NIT.
I didn't see this year's committee put as much emphasis on those last 10 games, which of course can be deceptive, because not many of those games are played "out of conference"

It's great to see these BCS conferences go down in hoops. Big East was a flop in the tourney.
March Madness is much more fair across the board than stupid bowls - when a Butler and No. Iowa can make it this far.
