Billy Gillispie will be high on the Miners list if the reports are correct about Barbee leaving.

That's going to end poorly
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Yeah...he's going for a pay day, because no one goes to Auburn to advance their career.

Andy Katz also lists Tim Floyd and Bob Marlin as early candidates. Not sure why anyone would want Floyd and his baggage after the mess he left at USC. Wonder if Johnny Jones will be in the mix out there as well?

Sounds like there's a darn good chance Billy Clyde will be coaching somewhere in CUSA West next year.

Looks like Auburn has made a pretty serious commitment to bball with a HUGE / NEW facility...black dude coaching at an SEC emerging hoops school...looks like a good move for both parties.

Auburn never ceases to amaze me. Imagine Texas Tech relocated from Lubbock to Big Spring. Add an 80,000 seat stadium. And you have Auburn.

Auburn is a great school..top level reps in eng. / vet. / pharma...went to a football game there a few times years ago, GREAT atmosphere, wonderful people...TT couldn't hold AU's jock, you actually have to have some crendentials to go and STAY there...I would compare AU to a$m in many ways, more from the academics v. "people" angle..a lot like Clemson...good place, imho.

was talking about the town. Population 50k. Largest city on that side of Alabama. Big Spring was an exaggeration. More like Flower Mound. McKinney. and "out on the plains."

I'm sure they have a fine school. Started out with Methodist ties, too.

Derek Caracter has reportedly quit the team at UTEP. He'll probably test NBA waters.

Some folks on the UTEP Forum are claiming that they have hired Tim Floyd.

Auburn is just trying to keep up with Bama...as usual

Hope this works out for Barbee...but I also hope UTEP finds a good replacement as we need everyone in CUSA to step things up

Report is that Tim Floyd was UTEP's first choice and they were negotiating, but UTEP and Floyd could not agree on terms.

UTEP may re-start the negotiations, but for now, deal is dead. UTEP also targeting Billy Gillispie and Randall Dickey.
