Hey, it's obvious you are the Captain of the Doherty ship, and you are going down with the ship. That's very admirable.
I'm not entirely convinced that if we went 0-fer next year that you wouldn't be on here touting the amazing recruiting class we have coming in to save us all.
The silver lining with the decommitt is that hopefully Doh won't overload the class with another large class of misses and handicap the next guy.
yea, except I could care less if Doh is the coach or not. You completely miscategorize my stance, which isn't surprising. I'm not going down w/any ship, b/c I'll be valuable to the next staff, no different then the current one. I'm program people, not a Doh fan-boi.
All I'm saying is that threads like this are tired. He's our coach through next year, we're currently recruiting a huge class in '11 and threads like this don't help the effort. Beyond that, you have no earthly idea what happened in this PG recruitment, nor does Armen/Josh or most anyone else who posts on these boards. I saw the whole thing up close, and it's didn't go down how you seem to think.
I'm pissed about Fab, don't confuse that. I don't love Jeremiah, understand that. What you need to grasp is that we didn't even have 1 ship to give, much less 2, unless they were both manufactured via forced attrition. Beyond that, Doh saw every available PG in America, I kid you not. The staff saw individual workouts, playoff games, pick up, skill drills etc. They didn't settle as much as they made an evaluation, that doesn't make sense to people, whose only understanding of recruiting is a grade assigned by the services.
Maybe Jeremiah sucks, and if so it's on Doh. It'll also be his job. That said, we took a kid the head coach is exceptionally high on, after working out everyone personally. Did you want Sham b/c he's got a nice ESPN grade, even though Doh hated him 3 out of 4 times this Spring? You know that's not happening. Ultimately, it's all just wait and see w/regards to Jeremiah. Until then, let's lay off the kid, and trust that our basketball people actually made an informed decision. It's not the popular decision, I get that, but "fire doh' threads, mid recruiting season, is poor form. It doesn't accomplish anything and may hurt our ability to acquire talent in a huge class.
