Interestingly, it appears that the "Staff Openings" page on SMU's Human Resources website is down. I keep getting a message that says that I'm not authorized to view the page.

that reminds me of something else. We've talked about the importance of getting someone in place hopefully by July 1. Doesnt SMU have a silly rule that the job has to be posted for 30 days before hiring someone?
They better get that HR page up. That, or just link your thread.

I don't know if SMU has a rule like that or not.
Here's the page:
http://smu.edu/hr/recruit/The postings are under "Staff Career Opportunities" which is currently a broken link.

SMU has abided by - I think they are Federal-fair employment job posting guidelines in most if not all job openings that I can remember. I've seen them referenced in several job searches. There are some exceptions though to those guidelines.

Back to the question, a current or former DISD or Houston School District head coach (or AAU coach) should be considered and recruited.

The new guy won't be a local type, i'd doubt. It doesn't address the needs of the staff, unless we're literally paying an an AAU type for kids now, which SMU won't do. Look at the staff and their respective recruiting regions, then subtract Lutz. What you have is a serious need in the NE, SE, and east coast in general. Midwest & Texas is Brown, West is Geary.
