you freaking Hobo
Adidas Camp:
Geoffrey Groselle, C, Dallas Mustangs – At 6-foot-11, Groselle is a capable post prospect that put together an impressive sequence against Urban DFW. This weekend he’s shown a consistent mid-range jump shot out to 15-feet and also has a nice set of hands. Mid-major programs and upper level mids should definitely be keeping tabs on the Plano (Tex.) West post prospect.

It's sad b/c the kid's Mom played at SMU. He likes the current staff, isn't influenced by any filth around the Mustangs, and values education. Oh yeah, he's a legit 6'11 and plays real post D & boards. Couple that w/Leslee, Vilde & hopefully Jonathan Holmes and we're starting to load up.
YOU HAVE TO OFFER LEGACY LOCALS, THAT HAVE ALWAYS PROJECTED AS HIGH MIDs, FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

plunk the same situation into any city in America home to a mid-major program and tell me a coach that wouldnt offer the kid.
For instance, say Groselle's mom played at UAB and Groselle was at Hoover High. Or say Groselle's mom played at Creighton and Groselle is at Mercy High. Or say Groselle's mom played at UNM and Groselle was at Albuquerque Academy. Or say Groselle's mom went to Air Force Academy and Groselle was at Cheyenne Mountain High....
Think any of those coaches wouldnt offer Groselle?
I think I need to switch to decaf tomorrow..

Wonder why he wouldnt at least offer him? Does Doh think since he busted with our 7 Footer on the bench from Maine that this kid could be of the same mold?...

You & I have been discussing this for over a year. Major challenges with talent evaluations with this staff (Doh). While JJ gets on them early, Doh waits till its too late & has to feed off the scraps.
Another perfect example of why Doh must go !

Honestly, we all know this year is make or break for Doh. Unfortunately, it's also the best year in DFW area high school hoops maybe ever. If we don't breakthrough in DFW now, w/Brown running the show, and Brion helping out locally, it ain't happening.

U mean it ain't gonna happen with this staff.
There's no doubt in my mind that the right coach
can land top locals & turn this into a winning program.

I was referring to Doh. I hope Brown & Geary are retained by BG/ next HC.
They seem to have a good eye. I'm sure they love the HC
repeatedly turning down their recommendations.
Selling Doh to locals appears to be just to hard if a sell
for anyone. Plus, you gotta identify early who is a realistic prospect & get it done.
Grosselle is a perfect example.

Doh does turn down a lot of kids the assistants line up for him. The Spring PG search was the most blatant example, but Groselle is quickly becoming the poster child.
FWIW, we've never been more active in texas, in an incredibly talented year. I hope we see some results.
As a side note, I find any mention of BCG, as an SMU coach, just hilarious, given what we are seeing in football & admissions right now. This is why the term 'good fit' and 'bad fit' were invented. SMU has to look at someone w/a history of not only winning, but recruiting to a school w/elevated admissions standards. BCG actively seeks programs where reading & writing is optional

I'd say that the JJ hiring was "outside the box" of what
we were all thinking re: the next football HC.
Besides, BG always brags about his players great graduation rate.
He's very proud of the %.î„…îªî« Seriously.

don't know how the younger Groselle will do, but Mike is making noise at the Citadel. He's averaging 18 pts and 11 boards thru 1st 5 games playing for Lefty's son. The family that got away?
