Agreed. Last year turned out to be respectable as part of Doh's plan to increasingly make it tougher, but on paper this looks like a big step backwards. I'm still baffled as to why we aren't taking any guaranteed games to at least make some extra money and get a little more exposure.

plenty of value in that season ticket package, don't ya think? At least the home crowd SHOULD witness some wins that will allow the entire roster to see minutes. That's always fun for a hard core fan.

Meanwhile...a road trip to Abilene to play McMurry? Is that Doh borrowing a page from ACC protocols and scheduling that game for Harp's family and friends?

That's nice, but what division is McMurry? II or III? (Please don't let the answer be NAIA.)

I love how people gripe that the football team plays schools that "no one has heard of" and then the men's basketball program rolls out games like these. What the heck?

Some of these games really are embarrassing. I knew it was going to be weak, but weak doesn't adequately describe the schedule. Wow !

unreal.

what are the quotes going to be this year? "we feel like Wayland Baptist is going to really challenge the boys this year, we have a great non-conference schedule..."

anyone else laugh out loud when they read this?

and McMurry is DIII.

What, was this game mandated by the Methodist church?

can anyone tell me one example of a D1 basketball team of any level playing a road game vs a DIII team? Outside of UTPA?

We lost to NAIA Rollins (FL) College at Moody back in the early Dave Bliss years and yes, it happens. Check the sagarin ratings and you will see teams that have played 10 games have only 9 show up in the ratings (because they only count D-1 opponents)

Just win baby as Al Davis would say. Coach Doh just wants to win. Really that's all that counts right?

While my question asked about road games, I did just think of an NAIA opponent we lost to on the road. Chaminade.

Maybe Waylon Baptist can get Willie Nelson to sing the National Anthem.
