Cunningham's facebook has a congrats from his cousin on making his choice, but doesn't spoil the announcement for Cannen. The assumption is that his decision comes public later today or tonight. BC fans don't know what to think.

One of the more heated recruiting battles in the metroplex came to an end yesterday as Kimball's Jalen Jones gave Coach Matt Doherty and the SMU Mustangs his verbal pledge to join them next season. The 6'6 versatile wing saw his stock fly off the charts this spring and summer while playing with Dallas Showtyme Elite. What makes Jones so special is that he's just learning to play the wing as he previously was limited to playing inside because of being the tallest person on his former team at Timberview.

I've stated all along that it would only take one before SMU could start getting more DFW area players, Jones is the first kid out of DISD for the Mustangs since the 2005-06 season which featured the Hopkins brothers from Lincoln.

Per a source close to the situation, expect Arlington Lamar stud Cannen Cunningham to make a decision on his college choice within the next 24 hours. Many believe he will give the Mustangs his verbal pledge as well.

Wow !! I'm not sure I can handle hearing something positive about SMU hoops from the Metroplex Hoops site. Things certainly appear to be changing for the positive.
Next season could be the most athletic team SMU has ever had, matching the athleticism of the top teams in CUSA and others.

If they land Cunningham, add him to a talented mix of Jones, Manuel, Smith, & Vilde & you've got
6'9, 6'6, 6'5, 6'7, & 6'9 potentially all on the court at the same time. Mismatch nightmare.

winters in Boston? Nah. Moody is good even when its only half full. When it fills up, its unbelievable. I have been in crowds of 16,000 at Illinois, UT and elsewhere and the atmosphere and noise really aren't as good as when you put 8,000 in Moody for a big game. Electric. Cunningham and Jones could bring some madness back to Moody.

It's amazing how quickly 1 commit can get all the fans back on board. Glad to see it as SMU Hoops certainly needs all the fan support we can get!

Landing Cannen would be huge. And to Papa's post, about length and mismatch problems- Norman and Haynes are both long as well. Plus, Pats and Clink should be sharpshooters on the perimiter and JSamp entering into his Soph season. Could be a very nice collection of talent.

That is talking about Jones not Cunningham just to clarify. Everyone is still on the edge of their seats as of now regarding Cunningham.

Unlike football, 2 good players can change an entire program around in basketball.
