Former SMU Standouts Selected In NBA D-League Draft
Mouhammad Faye Picked In Third Round And Bamba Fall Goes In The Seventh Round

NEW YORK (SMU) --- Former SMU men's basketball standouts Mouhammad Faye and Bamba Fall were selected in the 2010 NBA Development League Draft on Monday. Faye was selected by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the third round (39th overall) and Fall went to the Reno Bighorns in the seventh round (97th overall).

Faye completed his career in 2009-10, finishing third on the team and 22nd in Conference USA with 10.7 points per game. He also ranked second on the team and 18th in Conference USA with 5.3 rebounds per game.

Fall finished his career in 2008-09 as a two-time Conference USA All-Defensive Team selection. As a senior, Fall finished second in the league and 29th in the nation in blocks at 2.23 per contest. He was also seventh in the league in rebounding with 7.3 per game. He ranks second at SMU in career blocked shots (245) and was first or second in Conference USA all four seasons. He finished 21st on the Hilltop in career rebounds (576) and tied for fourth in career field goal percentage (55.5).

The NBA Development League, founded in 2001, is the NBA's official minor league. For the 2010-11 season, the league will feature 16 teams. The NBA D-League begins its 10th season on Nov. 18.
