Live by the 3, die by the 3..........No backside positioning for rebound (except Harp and Mangrum), still running the 3 man weave, basically no points in the paint, when we do screen, the ball never goes to the cutter - just back to the 3 man weave........I understand that we don't have much talent but is it too much to ask for that our coach demand fundamentals?????? I counted at least 10 times when we would put up a shot and all 5 of our players were dropping back instead of hitting the boards. How are you supposed to win when you don't even attempt offensive rebounding??? I have seen 6 year olds play better fundamental basketball than us. Starts with our coach whose basketball IQ can't even be in the double digits.............

We still have the "don't score for 8 straight minutes of the 2nd half" offense intact.

Doherty has not shown the ability to coach since he's been here. It makes me laugh when people think it's like a light switch and he can suddenly start coaching well. The proof is in the pudding. Just add Arkansas Little Rock to the list of ridiculous losses under Doherty.

that occurred to me last night. We might chalk up some w's against the cupcakes this year, and Mangino might help, but to get where we want to go it's going to take a coach that's had one or two w's in the tournament. I know he's not the choice of most, but it sucked walking past Clyde on the way out, someone who has had success. I was optimistic at halftime. Then, as MustangBill pointed out, in the second half we realized we'd "seen this story before." Year after year..

Mangrum had the benefit of 4 years of exceptional college coaching.

Steve (UALR's coach) is friends with Gillespie. Gillespie comes to UALR practices to help out from time to time.

from what I hear, u can't have both a June Jones extension and a Doh buy out. Orsini is a disaster. Way overpays one revenue only to sink the other. We'd have to go 11-1 every year in football to merit that money while hoops(the program w/the far higher ceiling) dies.

Next year, the roster loads up and we're gonna watch crap Dement ball again. Talent to compete for league titles, no execution.

I'll take crap Dement ball over Doh ball anytime. Crap ball is CUSA basketball.
You don't have to be that good to compete in CUSA. That should tell you how bad this program is.
