Coach Doh for poor performance or Steve O for allowing a clause in Dohs contract that gave him an automatic 2 year extension.

It is time to pull 2 plugs.

If that's accurate, it's another example of where SMU needs June Jones more than June needs SMU. The tail is wagging the dog.

The sky is blue. No chit we need June more than he needs us. We had been TERRIBLE for 25 years. He has been and is a hot commodity. I don't think anyone would argue that.

Turner gave MD the two year extension and would not let MD go after last year. Turner once again acts as the AD in athletics. Let Orsini run the dept. and keep the hell away. Turner is like Jerry Jones; a wantabe coach.

The Turners sat through the entire pitiful excuse of a game last Friday. You would think he has a clue as to what to expect this year based on that performance.

Not entirely true.

Turner wanted Rob Evans.

That would have been yet another disaster.

Both should go together. Last thing I want is Orsini touching anything basketball. He's a world-class bungler when it comes to hoops.

which is why the win-win for all would be kick Doh upstairs to be Assoc AD in charge of bball so he can kiss babies and shake hands, and stay on the payroll for a couple of years, let Mangino finish the year, and Doh can save face with his booster pals by raising money for BCG

^^^^EXACTLY!!!! ^^^^ This suits Doh's strengths and allows him to still be a part of the SMU family.
He can raise $$$ and is well respected off the court. No need to get rid of Orsini, he has done some great things for the athletic department during his tenure.

So the question is, would Doherty, actually, would any of you willingly stay at the place that fires you and moves you to a different position because you couldn't handle the last one. My bet is no, and personally I can't think of a situation where I wouldn't tell my employer to go pound sand if that was proposed.

DOH goes because he clearly can't get the job done. Orsini goes because he allowed a 2 year extension and if Turner is to blame for that, Orsini still goes for allowing Turner to bully him to allow that to happen..
DOH make over $500,000 year x 7 years $3.5 million dollars. Simply not worth the investment. However at this point in time we can't afford to buy him out so what happens? the men's basketball team is destined to suck for the next 3 years. Once DOH goes, the next guy needs what? 5 years as well. So men's basketball sucks for the next 8 years. Orsini has to take some of the blame. Oh and if DOH is moved to another athletic department position and quits, that is a good thing. but who is going to hire him at 1/2 million a year? It's all so depressing.

One more thing, DOH has created for himself an embarrassing easy no name opponents schedule, and Orsini is in on it, and still can't win.
