SMU Invitational

we all laughed at the lineup for this weekend's event. Anyone think this team will win a game? 2 games? all 3 games? I haven't researched any of the opponents but I'm sure they will come into a scrimmage atmosphere at Moody and I won't be surprised if we are 0-5 after this weekend.

This may be the worst bball team SMU has put on the court during my lifetime...and I've lived thru several 6-7 win seasons

I hope they can prove us all wrong but thru 2 games this has to be as ugly a start as I can ever remember

Very sad indeed...couldnt believe it when I saw this seasons schedule as well.
Didnt know Ark little rock has turned into a powerhouse.
Unbelievable what this program has turned into. Going to be a fun year!

I can't believe the men's game is at 5:00. If the football game is still going on, will anyone be there for the tip?

I like the 3:30 game Friday game, though.

I believe Rich Phillips said after the UALR debacle that the men's game will be pushed back if the Marshall game is not over at 5:30.

Yes, because if SMU wins that game, people will want to run over to Moody and have the euphoria immediately sucked out of them.

Nope, gotta have time for poor Rich to leave the football time to go announce the b-ball game. He needs a raise, especially with the way the b-ball team is playing.

Too bad they're going to do that. It might be better for this team to wallow in obscurity.

3 games in 3 days. Would love to be able and watch some of this. Afterwards it should be relatively easy to make a season long prognosis. Everything about SMU reads no depth and lack of talent. The teams in this weekend tourney are not very good programs. Let's hope SMU can represent itself in a winning fashion.

I saw UCR play last Friday at UNLV and the result was as bad as the recap indicated (http://espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=303162439). While it was the first game of the season and UCR is integrating several JC transfers, there isn't a reasonable excuse for such a poor performance. As the boxscore indicated, virtually nothing went well for the Highlanders. They beat a D-III school on Monday, so this tournament will show if they can get their act together against D-I teams.

With 11:53 left in the first half, UCR leads Lamar 17-16.

At the half, Lamar leads UCR 50-42.

Lamar pulls away late in the second half and defeats UCR 90-75.
